"The Winds of Fate" by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

One ship drives east and another drives west
With the selfsame winds that blow.
‘Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales

Which tells us the way to go.

Like the winds of the sea are the ways of fate,
As we voyage along through life:
‘Tis the set of a soul
That decides its goal,

And not the calm or the strife.

-Ella Wheeler Wilcox

KJ, sweet california chick, I'm pleased as punch that you visited me! I was just down there last week to visit with kids and grandkids and see old haunts. I see you are a voice teacher! If you heard me speak you wouldn't believe what you hear, my sweets. I sound like a teeny bopper with all the enthusiasm in my voice! I have a love/zest of/for life and am so upbeat it's almost scary. Plus with my new front crowns I'm learning how to speak - especially the "S's" all over again!! ;-) I'm infectious with my good moods and love of the gospel! I'll try to record my voice and put it on for all to hear but I hesitate to add voice or visuals to blogs because it slows them down so much.

Oooooh, and what would the photo of that "hot chick" say????? "Do I look too retro for ya?" :-)

Sorry I haven't had more time to check in. This morning I had a lovely time catching up. While it's fun to keep up with my fave blogs day to day, sometimes it's fun to "skip" and then read a whole month like a special novel you've saved to read. Sounds like you've been busy. Hang in there.

You left a little comment on my blog today (regarding Mamma Mia). I am so glad you did, because I have now found YOU! If we lived close together, I would love to go with you to see the movie (I really, really liked it). Your blog just pulled me right in. I briefly read some of your older posts and know you are someone I will visit often! Best wishes!!

That first photo is so gorgeous. It looks like the shell itself is blue and white.
