Wednesday Wanderings

Life Magazine - September 1931

Don't you love the displeased expression of this little cowboy as he's pressed against a swan by a well upholstered nanny? We can speculate as to why he looks unhappy, but I think it's pretty obvious... He'd rather be riding that horse!

"Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile.
-William Cullen Bryant

"Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all."
-Stanley Horowitz

"I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house. So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air."
-Nathaniel Hawthorne

I love your blog. I cannot believe the leaves are changing and falling. This summer went by too fast. I am not ready yet for the cooler weather. I guess I'd better get there.

Thanks for sharing the poetry

Autumn is definitely my favorite season. As much as I enjoy living in Costa Rica, autumn is one of the things I miss most. There are no crispy, frosty mornings and no bright, brilliant splashes of colors on the hill sides. It is just ...... green. It gets rather boring.
Blessings from Costa Rica
